This June 24, as Quebec celebrates its national holiday, Parc-Extension will add its own colours to the festivities: honouring resilience, creativity, and the rich cultures of its immigrant communities. The Monsoon Festival returns for its second edition, twice as big and still driven by the joy and bold spirit of the nonprofit organization Brique par Brique.
Held at Parc Dickie-Moore and the Brique par brique’s cultural centre, the festival promises a rich and diverse program for the whole family: live music, multidisciplinary performances, hands-on workshops, food and artisan booths, community conversations, neighborhood walks, film screenings, and kid-friendly activities. A full day to celebrate immigrant talent, identity, and solidarity in Montreal.
“Last year, something magical happened,” shares Faiz Abhuani, Director of Brique par Brique. “We saw that our community wasn’t just surviving — it was shining. From newcomers fleeing conflict to longtime volunteers, Monsoon reminded us that our stories are powerful and deeply connected.”
This year’s lineup includes:
-40+ artists from Montreal’s immigrant communities
-15+ food and artisan booths showcasing diasporic cultures
-Two venues featuring music, dance, storytelling, and interactive workshops
-Booths hosted by local non-profits, grassroots and mutual aid groups.
-A welcoming atmosphere for all generations, with water games, rest areas, and wheelchair accessible spaces
