10.08.25 ▴ Anthony Braxton interview and Trillium X on CKUT’s Jazz Euphorium ▴ Broadcast: 8:00 PM

FLUX festival and CKUT 90.3 FM are proud to announce a three part radio broadcast of the entire studio recording of Trillium X by renowned composer and multi-instrumentalist Anthony Braxton over three episodes of CKUT’s Jazz Euphorium on October 1, 8 and 15, 2025 between 8:00 and 10:00 PM. Before the first act of the opera, an exclusive interview with Braxton in conversation with McGill University’s Eric Lewis and CKUT Music coordinator Alex Moskos will be aired. The programs can be heard live when they are broadcast on 90.3 FM or ckut.ca as well as afterwards on ckut.ca’s archive.

Trillium X is a four act Opera that touches on themes of metaphysics and human consciousness that unfolds across “four exploratory dream spaces.” The work is inspired by speculative fiction and features space pirates, police robots and a whole range of futurist concepts. The work is the sixth opera in Braxton’s Trillium opera cycle which he has been working on since the 1990’s.

Braxton is a founding member of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM), and has been active and influential composer and improvising instrumentalist since the 1960’s. He has released countless recordings and performed around the world.
