Gordon Grdina’s The Marrow is a Vancouver/New York project which adapts Arabic and Persian forms to a jazz approach and ethos. The band is dedicated to creating modern music that pays homage to tradition while championing personal expression. The lineup includes Gordon Grdina (oud), Mark Helias (bass), Hank Roberts (cello) and Hamin Honari (tombak and daf).
Shams Al Habib is a Montreal oudist and singer who has performed at the Cairo Opera House, Cairo National Theatre, Festival Du Monde Arabe, Festival Orientalys, and at many Sufi events worldwide in Cyprus, France, Spain, Montreal, and New York.
