Funded by Museond Fund for Creativity’s Trans and Non-Binary Creators Incubator.
An important new initiative dedicated to fostering emerging trans, non-binary, and gender-expansive artists, the Museond Incubator provides creators with seed funding and a platform through which ambitious interdisciplinary projects can take shape. Following its 2025 presentation of Gabo Champagne’s Yvern—a poetic fusion of music, theatre, and movement reflecting on the threatened disappearance of Quebec winter—the Incubator returns to Flux with a vibrant program spanning drag, experimental music, poetry, performance, and visual art.
The evening features a drag performance by multidisciplinary artist Liz Lima, alongside the first full-band appearance of Naomi McCarroll-Butler’s freak-folk drone project Mer Agatha. Joined by Lucas Huang (Hsien), Christelle Saint-Julien, Sam Shalabi, and Hélios Paradis, Mer Agatha presents a dreamlike suite of invented instruments, feedback loops, and original and traditional songs, voiced by three characters inhabiting a surreal technodystopia suspended between the distant past and an uncertain future.
Multidisciplinary artist, improviser, and poet Z performs a slowly evolving electronic drone composed in real time through active listening, as frequencies, frictions, undulations, gravities, and textures interact with the space and with one another. Z will also launch a new photographic zine: a poetic meditation on making a home in a strange and liminal place, moving through landscapes and languages, identities, love, longing, estrangement, and the ordinary pleasures of passing through.
