The panel discussion is part of Archiving Improvisation Community, Culture and the Weight of History, a series of community focused roundtables open and free to the public. The roundtables will focus on questions related to archiving improvised music. What roles does the improvisatory, and archives of the improvisatory, play in preserving the history of counter-hegemonic social and political actions? What new roles might be called for in our present times? What archives still need to un-earthed, or created from scratch? How might methods themselves improvisatory in nature be required to create, disseminate and perpetuate such archives?
